New Mexico Human Trafficking Task Force
The New Mexico Human Trafficking Task Force is a coalition of local, state, federal, tribal, and citizen organizers committed to the prevention of human trafficking in the State of New Mexico through education, outreach, and collaboration.
Goals & Objectives
The Task Force's primary goal is to collaborate in sharing and disseminating information, contacts, and protocols related to the existence, prevention, and response to human trafficking in New Mexico.
Conduct proactive victim-centered investigations and prosecutions of sex and labor trafficking crimes in coordination and collaboration with local, state, tribal, regional, and federal law enforcement and regulatory agencies within New Mexico.
Identify victims of all forms of human trafficking and offer a comprehensive array of restorative services to meet each victim's individualized needs.
Enhance community capacity to identify and report trafficking crimes by conducting training, public awareness, and outreach.
From the inception of the task force in 2015 to present there have been many sex and labor investigations in all corners of New Mexico, from rural communities to the State’s largest metropolitan area.
During the three-year period of 2015-2018 with the first phase of the federal grant, the 505-GET-FREE Hotline received over 1,700 human trafficking related calls and texts in New Mexico.
